Liberty Walking Half Dollars
United States of America
Liberty Walking halves (and Mercury dimes) were designed by Adolph A. (Alexander) Weinman (1870-1952) and minted from 1916 through 1921; 1923; 1927 through 1929; and 1933 through 1947. Weinman's monogram AW appears under the tips of the wing feathers. On the 1916 coins and some of the 1917 coins, the mint mark is located on the obverse below the motto.
